You deserve leadership that makes decisions based on what's right for you in this market, not from a boardroom across the country.

During a period when many brokerages are consolidating under corporate interests, we're proud to remain fiercely local and independent. Our reasoning is simple — it's what's best for our business, our agents, and the markets we serve.

For over 170 years, we've been the oldest and largest independent brokerage in Chicagoland, and that independence means we have local control — our agents have the resources they need right here in Chicagoland. From office staff to the top leadership, they get real support from people who truly understand our communities and what it's like to do business here.

Whether we're unveiling a new brand, launching innovative tech, building a new in-hou...

Live Easier — Baird & Warner Newsletter 2024

Have you heard? Last month, fellow independent brokerage Dream Town became part of the Baird & Warner family. We are now the second-largest brokerage in the region and remain the largest independent and locally owned real estate company in Chicagoland.

But this addition is about more than just growth — it's about doing what's best for our clients and our Chicagoland community. At a time when many national real estate brands are backed by private equity, we're doubling down on our investment in being a fiercely independent local brokerage that strives to always do the right thing.

We're unapologetically committed to the people and communities we serve, and are proud to do even more with the addition of Dream Town. It allows us to offer the best in technology and marketing while staying true to our core values.

Here's to what's next — more ways to serve you, new tools, and an even easier real estate experience.

Chicagoland has something for everyone, especially history buffs. From the Great Chicago Fire to the World's Fair, remnants of Chicago's past are everywhere — and it's the perfect time of year to visit some of the Chicagoland area's best historical sites.

These are some of the historic landmarks in Chicagoland that we think should be on your list this year.

  • The Rookery Building - 209 S La Salle St, Chicago, IL 60604
  • St. James Cathedral - 65 E Huron St, Chicago, IL 60611
  • Griffin Museum of Science and Industry - 5700 S DuSable Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60637
  • Noble-Seymour-Crippen House - 5624 N Newark Ave, Chicago, IL 60631
  • Rosehill Cemetery Entrance - 5800 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 60660
  • The Green Door Tavern - 678 N Orleans St, Chicago, IL 60654

If you're thinking about selling your home, searching for a new one, or working as a real estate agent, it's important to understand your options when it comes to listings. Most homes today are listed on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) — a central database used by real estate professionals to list properties for sale. The MLS is also the source that powers popular home search sites like Zillow, Redfin, Trulia, Realtor.com, and others. Here in the Chicagoland area, there is also a Private Listing Network (PLN), which is a subset of the MLS where listings can be shared among agents before becoming publicly available. You may have also heard about a third option — "pocket listings" or "office exclusives." These are real estate listings that are exclusive to a particular real estate brokerage's private website — that means they're not shared with the public nor any agents outside the listing brokerage.
